Summer Heat
Hmm… I started this post in July and apparently never made it live. So in order to clear the books, I am posting now… I will also be posting a lot of updates from the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. Life has gotten in the way, once again. They will be short on story and heavier on pictures.

This heat is outrageous.
As I mentioned in my last post, any and all plans I had for the year were put on hold due to the lightening strike at my house. And yes, I am still dealing with the fallout from that. These cancelled plans included a lot of summertime activities, events, and trips, so needless to say, my summer hasn’t been as “active” as I had hoped. But it has been busy, even if that’s just cleaning up the yard (wood piles everywhere!) or working extra hours to pay for repairs. And while not completely sustainable, working longer hours has had a benefit in allowing me some “downtime” to think, process, and regroup.
And sometimes, plans change entirely.
The vision I had for myself at the beginning of the year is not the vision I have for my future now. Ironically, the vision I have now is more long-term than the previous plans ever were. Originally, I had hoped to go fishing a lot more, to go camping a bunch, to maybe get into an overlanding vehicle and explore some of the national and state forests around. Now, none of those things are truly in the works. Only time will tell if this new plan is even able to be accomplished.
